Day in the Park

Celebrate Lassen Volcanic's Anniversary with us!

Saturday, August 11th, 11am - 2pm

Loomis Museum & Plaza

Free Family-Friendly Event

Optional BBQ Hosted by Anderson Rotary; $13/Person for Lunch

(Proceeds benefit Lassen Park Foundation)

In 2018 the Day in the Park will be held in concert with the Reach the Peak Hike-A-Thon.  It is our goal to give everyone a chance to learn more about the park and explore new trails and old favorites.

We encourage everyone affected by the smoky air caused by fires to take a break and visit the park, see the blue skies again, and relax in the peaceful surroundings. For more information about air quality at the park or a peak at the sky via webcams visit their Air Quality page.

Day in the Park is an annual celebration of the park's birthday. Each year around the park's anniversary (August 9) we get together in the Loomis Plaza and share information, fun, food, and friends with our visitors.  This year's celebration will happen on Saturday, August 11, 2018.

The days' event includes booths with information on park programs and services, and displays and products from the park's non-profit partners (Lassen Park Foundation and Lassen Association).   Live music, face painting, and artisitic displays are also common occurances at Day in the Park.

A BBQ lunch will be offered for $13/person through the generous volunteers at the Anderson Rotary Club. Funds raised at the BBQ benefit Lassen Park Foundation's projects and programs including the Youth Camping Program.
