Elizabeth Norton, Vice Chair Grants
Elizabeth Norton, Co-Chair for Development, retired in January 2008 after a 31-year career in federal government working for the US Department of Agriculture Forest Service. During her career she worked in Minnesota, Michigan, Wyoming, Vermont, Washington, DC, and California. She served as the Public Services Officer for the Lassen National Forest in Susanville for 15 years (1993-2008). In this position, Elizabeth secured millions of dollars in grant funds to support the Lassen’s recreation program and enhance customer service for the visiting public. Elizabeth holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a master’s degree in Forest Management from Syracuse University. She resides in Susanville where she and her husband, Bob, manage a ranch. They enjoy wilderness hiking, camping, canoeing, skiing, and four-wheeling. Elizabeth is an active volunteer with the Recreation Outdoor Coalition promoting outdoor recreation in the North State.
