We did it!
Park visitors and supporters raised
$500,000 through the Lassen Park Foundation, financing an orientation
film and exhibits for the newly opened Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center! All contributions of $1000 and more
have been recognized within the new center on a beautiful donor wall.
Kohm Yah-mah-nee will be the first platinum LEEDS structure in the National Park Service. The facility uses state-of-the-art energy conserving methods and recycled materials (which, by the way, are absolutely beautiful) in a building that will be the signature structure of the national park.
Everyone who contributed to the new Kohm Yah-mah-nee (the name native-Americans used to describe Lassen Peak) Visitor Center should be justly proud of their role in creating one of the most progressive visitor centers in the national park system.
