Mary Martin, Co-Chair, Development

Mary Martin is the Foundation’s Co-Chair for Development. She was born in Galway, Ireland, and grew up in San Francisco. She graduated from CSU, Bakersfield with a B.S. in Environmental Resource Management and from Golden Gate University with a MPA.  Martin retired from the National Park Service in 2007, after 38 years with the federal government, which included 11 as Superintendent of Mojave National Preserve (in the California desert) and 2 as Superintendent of Lassen Volcanic National Park.  She worked and lived in Yosemite NP, Alaska Region and Washington, DC.  She received the Department of Interior Meritious Service Award in July 2000, an National Park Conservation Association Award in September 2005, and numerous other awards and recognitions including Congressional recognition from Congressman Jerry Lewis (CA) and Senator Dianne Feinstein.  Martin lives with her husband in Palo Cedro.
